Rodrigo Madanes

Last year, I was invited to some important and very interesting events that involved AI on some way. Sibos Conference took place in September in Toronto, and I was was there to talk about AI in banking.

It was great talking about AI in banking at the Sibos conference in Toronto! It was my first time there, and I didn’t know the scale. Sibos It’s the biggest banking conference. It takes place once a year and in a different city in the world each time. It’s about 8000 banking professionals including commercial, retail, and central bankers, together with all the associated technology and professional service professionals that support the industry.

The theme was “Collaborative finance in a fragmented world”. This reflects a key challenge facing the financial community today. The conference featured expert speakers from across the financial ecosystem who addressed all the big questions affecting the future of finance. Brian Moynihan was in charge of the opening plenary. He is the Chair of the Board and CEO of Bank of America. He spoke on macroeconomic trends, AI, collaboration, and the critical role of the Swift community. You can find more information about the conference on the official Sibos website.

The panel about AI on banking

I was invited to speak on a panel moderated by Rachel Levi. She is the head of innovation engineering for Swift. I talked about GenAI and the evolution in the banking industry (AI on banking). It was great to be there. The strand called #innotribe, which focuses on emerging tech, included our panel “The AI frontier: navigating the widening landscape of business applications“. The organization was great, there was very nice people and thoughtful conversations. I loved talking with various people in the banking industry on AI and meeting new folks.
