I spoke last week with AI leaders at the Reuters Momentum AI conference. Below is the message I shared with them.
Focus on 3 things in 2025
1. Foundations
Make sure you have the right foundations to lead the AI transformation at your enterprise. Some of these foundations include the right AI leadership and a structured AI program, an AI developer platform that increases your developer productivity, a well-connected relation between your board, your executive team, and your AI leadership, and a clear AI strategy.
2. Innovation
If you haven’t started learning in your organization you need to start. This means both building your own AI tools as well as licensing commercial AI tools, incorporating these tools into your teams day to day work, or your customers’ experiences, involving your compliance teams to ensure everything you do is fully on board. Learn the best ways to empower your people with these tools. Be thoughtful of the needs for these tools between your experts and your novices in your roles (think of it like training wheels on bicycles, not everyone wants them for everything). Measure and learn from every experiment you do, the end result will be so much better for it.
3. Scale ups
Capturing the value in these opportunities. This means scaling up selectively the innovations that have proved to work. This will include process changes in your org, refocusing time from your teams that have added productivity, putting in place technology “DevOps” teams as new AI models are deploying at scale. You need to now deliver the promised value to your enterprise. This is where it becomes harder. It’s about larger licensing deals, maturing homegrown technology, and change management. But it’s awesome when you see the change at scale.
I was grateful for the opportunity to speak in a panel with some great technology leaders:
- Diogo Rau from Eli Lilly
- Loretta Franks from Kellanova
- Kushal Chakrabarti from OpenDoor
- Rodrigo Beceiro from Marvik AI
- Dr. Seth Dobrin from Qantm AI
